Tips

Swimming
In order not to lose your goggles, wear your goggle strap under your swim cap.
Don’t swim straight to the first buoy, but keep in mind that there will be current and adjust your swimming target for this. If you need help, wave your arm so you will be spotted by one the rescue boats or canoos.

Biking
Ýou should use wide (2.3 inch) tyres with little or no profile (slicks or semi-slicks). On the beach you will profit from low tyre pressure, especially in the loose sand. After the race, wash and grease all running parts of your bike to prevent rusting.

Transition zone
The transition zone or ‘parc-fermée’ is on the beach. You can use a plastic bag to keep your shoes dry, should it rain. Memorize your spot in the transition zone, and check how you will enter and exit the zone.
